On March 21-23, 2014, annual meeting of Council of International Federation of Translators was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. The chairman of Azerbaijan Youth Translators Association Ismail Jabrayilov and coordinator for international relations Tarlan Arzumanov participated in the meeting as observers from Azerbaijan Youth Translators Association with financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Youth Foundation.

AGTA has been an observer member of FIT since October 30, 2012. In early February, 2014, AGTA applied for regular membership with FIT. The final decision will be made in the FIT Statutory Congress to be held in Berlin, Germany, in August, 2014.
